Trees in Epping

Trees in Epping

Epping is known as a green and leafy suburb. Surrounded by national park to its north, dotted with parks and green spaces, and many tree lined streets, the low rise suburb has many mature indigenous trees that form a green backdrop. As well as offering a pleasant and environmentally friendly vista, the trees are homes to birds and animals.

With the development of the Town Centre, and surrounding new buildings and houses, this tree canopy is under threat.

This sub-committee of the Trust will specifically look at issues relating to trees, including:

  • Development Applications including tree removal
  • Parks and reserve areas
  • Council policies on tree removal and replacement
  • Council budget and action to increase tree planting
  • Community awareness of trees
