This line will close for conversion to the new Metro from 30 September, and a large transport project called Stationlink will swing into action to try and transport the more than 20,000 people a day who travel this line.
This plan centres around encouraging people to travel by train to Beecroft/Epping/Eastwood and Chatswood stations, and then change on the new dedicated pink bus Stationlink services. There are 7 routes - some going all day, all week, others for peak hour. They will stop at Macquarie Uni, Macquarie Park and North Ryde, replacing the train stops. They are in addition to all the regular bus routes.
The East side of Epping faces huge upheaval during this time with parking changes, many more buses travelling up Pembroke and into the bus stand beside the station, and confused travellers.
There will also be changes to train journeys for regular Epping commuters to the city - with many having to now change trains at Central to get to Town Hall and Wynyard during peak hours.
