This DA has been underway since 2015 and was initially rejected by City of Parramatta.
The dispute between the Council and Kingsland Developments Aust Pty Ltd has recently been referred to the Land and Environment Court.
The Council rejected the developer’s application in 2016 because the proposed building exceeded the height limits of the Parramatta LEP, and because the amenity of some apartments was unsatisfactory.
The developer amended the plans, but the Council found the amendments were inadequate. A conciliation conference in September last year failed to resolve the issues.
The Court has heard objections to the latest proposal, including from Epping Civic Trust. The matter between the Council and Kingsland was before Commissioner Walsh of the Land and Environment Court on May 3 and 4. It is not clear when the Court will bring down its determination but the Trust will monitor the matter.
